Song For Shepton

Song For Shepton

Write a story, poem or song to celebrate our town

We're launching ‘A Song For Shepton’, a community project asking as many local people as possible to write a song, poem, or story that celebrates our town.

Shepton has so much going for it and a rich history of creativity, culture and community. Everyone who has lived here, worked here or visited has a story to tell, whether that’s school memories from Whitstone or falling in love on a walk through Collett Park. We want to hear them all and celebrate the town that we are proud to call our home.

You might want to write about the town itself, a memory of a great night out, or or happy day spent in Shepton. Whatever shines a light on this town we call home.

All ages and abilities are encouraged to get involved and submit ideas. We are looking for as many songs as possible, and you will have the opportunity to perform them at a live event during the Snowdrop Festival in February 2026.

Proceeds raised from the event will go to SWEDA's work in Shepton and the surrounding region, supporting people of all ages affected by eating disorders.
