7 years
old
Lying
still in bed
Covers over my head
Trying to blend into the duvet
I began my disappearing act
My 10th
birthday
Getting “so big” now
Growth means pain
I mustn’t get bigger
Got to try harder at my disappearing act
13 years old
But I’m not getting smaller
The blood that came
Left a permanent stain
But helped me perfect my disappearing act
16 years old
At last here, nothing to see
Nothing to touch
No more pain for me
I’m disgusting apparently
But I got it right at last my disappearing act
Now 23 years later
It’s nearly complete
Soon will be time
For the finale of my disappearing act
