Online Communities supporting people suffering from eating disorders

I am a Masters student studying at Nottingham University. I am interested in online communities supporting people suffering from eating disorders and am asking people with a few minutes to spare to tell me about your experiences of using online forums and chat rooms.

Who can participate?
Anyone aged 18 or over who have been affected by eating disorders and who have accessed online communities for support or information. Families, friends and carers who make use of the online community are also encouraged to participate, as are those who have recovered.

What is the study about?
The purpose of the study is to explore the extent to which accessing online communities is helpful and in what ways. I will be exploring people’s experiences with online communities and whether these experiences differ based on their participation within the community (i.e. those who rarely post, those who post often etc).

What does participating involve?
You will complete a short survey online which will take about 10 minutes. The survey is entirely anonymous and so you will not be asked to provide any personal details.

To participate please follow this link http://www.zoomerang.com/Survey/WEB22AW8729F5M
If you have any questions about the study, please email me at lwxlh4@nottingham.ac.uk

Thank you
