SWEDA seeks to support young people who are
trying to manage their eating disorder whilst in education or training.
Our aim is to
enable and support young people in this situation to continue and succeed
to help them move forward in their recoveries and, hopefully, to leave
them feeling empowered, motivated and excited about moving on into
life after study.
Students are welcome to (and many do) use SWEDA Frontline
Services which includes a telephone helpline, support by letter
or email and online chat support using Microsoft's Windows Live! Messenger.
Online Windows LIve! Messenger support
runs in parallel with the Helpline and other Frontline Services.
You can chat directly to SWEDA, when we are online, by adding us
to your contact list using the email address
will be answered during Helpline times. To downloadWindows Live! Messenger
SWEDA produced a wide range of leaflets and
other resources which you can find hosted here (click the "Resources" button
on the menu).SWEDA is also keen to attend and/or provide literature
at Freshers' Fairs and other relavent college and university functions
as well as providing training for staff and students.
SWEDA's Creative Pages contain many contributions
from students. Poems, writing and pictures can be a source of great inspiration,
and a way of expressing what feels beyond words.
