My Journey through recovery from an eating disorder Authored by Ms Jackie Tanner Jackie has been an active supporter of SWEDA, so we are really pleased to tell you about her new book. Available on Amazon, ' The Cupcake Queen strikes back' tells the real story of a Womans fight against Anorexia. Told with poetry and personal stories, it shares the feelings and emotions of what it is like to live with this often misunderstood illness. It is funny, gritty and inspiring and proves there is hope and recovery is possible.
Jackie found a love of writing in 2010 after starting a personal blog on her recovery from Anorexia. Since then she has been writing along with a community of bloggers, who advocate awareness of eating disorders and who promote recovery. Jackie has had poetry published in the recent Body Gossip book which is an anthology of real body stories. Somerset and Wessex Eating Disorders Association - for help and support around anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa, compulsive eating, binge eating disorder and related eating disorders (Eating Disorders Not Otherwise Specified - EDNOS or Eating Disorders Not Specified EDNS) for all those affected by eating disorders.

SWEDA - is a user-led, pro-recovery, registered charity based on the principles of self help. We are based at Street in Somerset, in the Southwest of England (UK), with the aim of serving those in Somerset and the surrounding counties affected by eating disorders - anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, compulsive eating, binge eating disorder and all related eating disorders - whether they are a sufferer themselves, someone caring for, or supporting, a sufferer or anyone in any way affected by eating disorders. Our services include a telephone helpline, counselling, student support, pen-pals, email & letter support, online services (including online message boards), Life Skills Support and others designed to help you beat eating disorders!
