Eating Disorders Awareness Week 2011
SWEDA Events
The 20th - 26th February 2011 was Eating Disorders Awareness Week.

On this page you can find out about the things SWEDA got up to to raise awareness of eating disorders and funds for SWEDA. A big thank you goes out to all involved who helped to make EDAW 2011 a big success for SWEDA.

Radio

SWEDA had a big response to eating disorders across Somerset Radio with staff asked to do several interviews. Anita was interviewed on Heart FM and Total Star, whilst Paul did his bit being interviewed by Emma Britton on BBC Radio Somerset Sound and BBC Radio Bristol.

Jan, Jess and Sián on the SWEDA Helpline

SWEDA has done very well for press coverage the local newspapers across the area. A superb article in the Somerset Journal series of papers  (Central Somerset Gazettee, Well Journal, Shepton Mallet Journal) with a contribution from a clients sharing her experiences of her eating disorder and an additional editorial article inThe Street Paper (Street, Burnham, Highbridge) .

GP Packs

The whole SWEDA team did their bit in distribution of the SWEDA Pack that went out to GP’s across the region – thank you to everyone who helped out.

Stuck On You! The SWEDA Notice Board.

SWEDA launched its new Notice Board during this important week highlighting eating disorders. Looks of people when they come into SWEDA look and see the latest news and views. Notice Board co-ordinators/designers and volunteers Jess & Melony have been busy cutting and sticking finding things of interest to put up on the Notice Board a major focal point as you come into SWEDA’s offices in Street. They’re next theme is on ‘eating disorders and the media’ lots to work on there then! Great project thank you ladies.
